I love those first few days of a fresh, new year. Along with list making and creating of 'master plans', there's generally time after the crazy brilliance of December with all the promises of a whole year ahead, to look around my home, decorations packed away, with fresh eyes.
I have a love/hate relationship with taking down the Christmas decs.. I don't like saying goodbye to Christmas as it's probably my most favourite time of year (especially this year, as it was very nearly a white Christmas!) but I love the space that's revealed when everything's put away again. It gives me renewed vigour to get on with that bit of decluttering I've been putting off, move the pictures around, find space for my lovely new hanging plant pot... simply pottering away in my very own burrow.
This year I'm also using the optimistic days of January to crack on with my business - making plans for a fulfilling 2018. I intend to make it full of gorgeous fabric and fabulous things for the home. I hope you'll join me on the journey.
